Hi Denise,
I really liked your article. Can you imagine a world where every believer was on mission? Where every believer was fulfilling the purposes God has for them?

We're attempting to build an online tool that will help the body of Christ live missionally. Our organization has discovered that a follower of Christ would need at least 5 things to help them live life this way. One, they would need to know that God has unique kingdom building purposes for their life that they were meant to fulfill (Ephesians 2:10). I'm sure you'd agree that most are ignorant of this. They've bought into the consumer mentality that's been portrayed in our churches for quite some time. Secondly, they need a team. We need to be surrounded by others who can encourage us, plan with us, pray and do whatever it is that God has for us. Thirdly, they need some ongoing equipping. God may have given someone a burden for a group of people but they may have no idea how to effectively contextualize their approach to the people in that group. The gospel is the same but how you go about revealing it to someone could be helped or hindered by your approach. Fourthly, a God inspired plan. Basically, if you aim at nothing, you hit it every time. We think a lot of people start out with good intentions but often fail over the long haul because they hadn't planned appropriately. The fifth and final thing is Coaching. We all get stuck at times. It would be a great help to someone if they could hear from an "expert" or at least "been there, done that" in whatever group we're trying to reach.

We're building AllCallings.com to help facilitate those 5 things. It's a place that puts the responsibility of being on mission back in the hands of the believer and away from church leaders. They can't realistically sit down with every member and determine what their calling is. The church leadership can help with this but in the end it's up to the believer to figure out where God wants them to engage. It's a place where you can discover other believers in your church or in your community that feel led to do the same thing. Together you can form a team that prays, plans, holds each other accountable and actually does the work. Isolation kills. It's also a place where you can find the resources you'll need to do the work effectively. We haven't launched this section of the site yet but there will be a resource section to help you in effectively doing ministry in the marketplace, military, inner city, neighborhood, high school, etc.... Finally, there will be people you can talk to when you get stuck. People who have succeeded in doing the type of ministry you're called to do.

So, go check it out. You don't have to join to click around and see what's there. These last sections I talked about should be launched within the next 30 days. Oh, also we initially launched it with recent college graduates in mind but are updating it shortly to be utilized by a broader demographic. In the end, we hope it helps to facilitate a great mobilization of believers.

Surprising what actually comes from getting into Gods's word.
I often ask our congregation, "How biblical do want to get?" Often we find that our traditions, thoughts, paradigms need some minor if not major adjustments to come into alignment with God's Word.

Can I add you blog to the links to blogs on my site?

Amen Denise. You have hit the nail squarely on the head.
Greater is He that is in us than He that is in the world!
